An amazing bargain for such a fine wine, the Chateau Guillaume Bordeaux Superieur is a standout in the 2019 vintage. Gold medal winner at the 2020 Decanter World Wine Awards, this 100% Malbec (highly unusual from Bordeaux) was a runaway winner for the top wine under $15. In its youth, the Chateau Guillaume is ready-to-drink and accessible, with the ability to cellar another 10+ years. While it doesn't have the power and tannins of 2018, the 2019 is a cross between the openness of 2009, and the more structured 2010. It's actually the perfect vintage for petit chateau, of which Chateau Guillaume is one of the best!
