Primitivo is Italian for Zinfandel, and nowhere does the Mediterranean climate craft a rich, full-bodied version than in the region of Puglia. Located at the heel of the boot, Southern Italy’s sun shines through a ruby red wine with full flavors of ripe red fruits and a hint of spice. After being reduced to nothing but a blending grape, Primitivo has seen a huge uptick in recent years as studies have shown that Primtivo is identical to California’s powerhouse. It's become so popular, the 2010 & 2013 vintages were listed in The Wine Spectator as a Top 100 selection. While those wines as long gone, the 2018 vintage is ready-to-drink and amazing for the price!
